FEES                  Fees:  We offer two types of examinations:       Limited       Complete Limited Examination  A limited examination focuses on finding and recovering specific items of interest to the client.  A limited examination of a single computer may take between 15 to 25 hours.  This time could increase or decrease, depending upon the type operating system, the type of data contained on the media, any password protection, hardware problems and the specific examination required by the client.  Multiple hard drives in one computer may increase the amount of time involved.  Examination of floppy diskettes or other removable media, in addition to the computer media will increase the time involved for the examination.  The fee is based upon the quoted hourly rate.  Complete Examination  A complete examination is an examination of the entire computer media.  A complete examination of a single computer may take between 20 to 35 hours.  This time could increase or decrease, depending upon the type operating system, the type of data contained on the media, any password protection, hardware problems, the size of the media and the amount of data on the media.  Multiple hard drives in one computer may increase the amount of time involved in the examination.  Examination of floppy diskettes or other removable media, in addition to the computer media, will increase the amount of time involved for the examination.  Fixed rates are not normally offered.  Our hourly rate is between $200 and $250 per hour, depending upon the operating system, the difficulty of the examination or recovery and whether court testimony may be necessary. This rate will be determined and quoted before any limited or complete examination begins.  We will immediately advise you if we encounter unusual hardware, software or other conditions that will cause an increase in the approximate time quoted for the examination.  A retainer of 50% of the estimated examination cost is required before the limited or complete examination is started.  Our out-of-town daily rate is 10 times the quoted hourly rate, plus reasonable Per Diem and expenses.  Our in-town travel rate is 1/2 the quoted hourly rate.  We normally take cases on a first come, first serve basis.  Short deadline or rush requests may quoted a higher rate.  If it can be done via EMAIL, mail or other shipment, passwords are unlocked for $65 for the first password and $25 for each additional password.  No fee is charged if we cannot unlock the file.
